Who is Sellout?

Ryan “Sellout” Burch is a contemporary American artist whose work blends street art energy with layered symbolism rooted in West Coast culture.

Emerging in Los Angeles in 2015 under the moniker Sellout, Burch began wheat-pasting bold imagery across the city, taking elements of the LA landscape and remixing them through a street-art lens. What began as guerrilla installations evolved into a distinct visual identity, most notably his reinterpretation of West Coast Lady Liberty, a recurring figure that became synonymous with the Sellout name.

In 2020, Burch began representation with Arushi Gallery in Los Angeles, marking a formal transition from street to gallery walls. By 2021, he was exhibiting at the LA Art Show and later that year debuted internationally with Street Dreams in London, his first overseas exhibition. He returned to the LA Art Show in 2025, further cementing his presence in the contemporary art world.

Over time, Burch’s work has been featured in prominent exhibitions and private collections across Singapore, Mumbai, the United Kingdom, Shanghai, and other major international cities, while continuing to be widely collected throughout the United States.

His work has also appeared in mainstream media, including LA Originals, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as well as numerous music videos and publications, cementing his space between fine art and popular culture.

Beyond the studio, Burch is deeply committed to community engagement. He regularly collaborates with schools, municipalities, and local organizations, creating large-scale public art that brings people together through shared space and visual storytelling. His mural portfolio includes civic installations across Southern California, highlighted by the creation of the largest Route 66 mural in the nation, completed in 2025.

Today, Sellout’s work continues to explore myth, identity, and reinterpretation, while merging street-born grit with gallery refinement and remaining rooted in community and cultural dialogue.
